Safer Internet Day 2026

Safer Internet Day takes place on Tuesday, 10th February 2026 and the theme is “AI Aware: Safe, Smart, and in Control”. Safer Internet Day 2026 aims to explore ways to empower children and young people with the critical thinking and digital literacy skills they need to evaluate content, recognise bias, protect their privacy, and make responsible decisions, and be Safe, Smart and in Control.
This Safer Internet Day, we want teenagers to be ‘AI Aware’. The DPC and Coimisiún na Meán have jointly produced a downloadable poster containing some tips for teens to help them navigate AI safely. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to driving higher standards of protection for children online as outlined in our Joint Statement published in October 2025.
