Our Statement of Strategy sets out the Data Protection Commission’s mission, vision and values, as well as our strategic objectives to guide our work during 2019. It also explains the context for our work during the coming year, with 2019 set to be another year of transformation and growth for the DPC.
One of the DPC’s key priorities in 2019 will be the development of a new long-term Regulatory Strategy, which will set out our long-term objectives and how we will achieve them. This long-term strategy will become our guide in how we fulfil our obligations, how we prioritise our work, and how we balance competing demands to maximise the protection of personal data rights for all.
We want to carefully consider the views of our diverse stakeholders and the perspectives of the individuals whose data protection rights we seek to uphold. Therefore, an extensive public consultation process will be central to the development of our new Strategy during the coming months. Details of this consultation process will be made available on our website in the coming months.
