Data Protection in the Charity & Voluntary Sector
The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner has now conducted a number of audits of charities. On foot of the inspection reports produced as a result of these audits, the Office is issuing this new guidance to all charities. The guidance focuses primarily on the use of personal data collected in conjunction with charities' fundraising activities in order to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Acts 1988 & 2003.
