REQUEST FOR SUBMISSIONS
OFFICIAL LANGUAGES ACT 2003 - PREPARATION OF A DRAFT SCHEME BY THE OFFICE OF THE DATA PROTECTION COMMISSIONER
The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner proposes to draft a new scheme in accordance with Section 15 of the Official Languages Act 2003 (the current scheme can be viewed on our website, Irish Language Scheme). The primary objective of the Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish.
The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner now wishes to invite representations in relation to the preparation of the draft scheme from any interested parties. Submissions should ideally not exceed 4,000 words (c. 8 pages). Ideally submissions, which may be made available on the Office's website, should be forwarded electronically to email@example.com.
Alternatively, they may be posted to: Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, Canal House, Station Road, Portarlington, Co. Laois.

The latest date for receipt of representations is 5pm on 19 February 2010.
